On Radio 4's "Any Questions", Frederick Forsyth read out a supposed quote from Jean Monnet (one of the "founding fathers" of the EU) about Europe being "guided towards the superstate without their people understanding what is happening". He also commented that he hadn't heard anyone else use this quote. The reason for that is that the quote is completely bogus – it's the stuff of conspiracy theories, as is the whole idea that we're going to be forced into some kind of superstate.
