Another dream.
This dream was unusual in that it seemed a lot more real than normal. I could think quite clearly. My main thought was "I hope this is a dream".
I found myself in what appeared to be my flat, sitting on the floor next to the heater, having seemingly just woken up. I noticed that the floor seemed rather dusty, especially alongside the wall. Underneath a leg of the heater (which does not stand on legs in reality) was a sock frayed almost beyond recognition.
I got up and looked at the place I was in. It was the same basic size and shape of my flat, but the walls were covered in blue wallpaper with an embossed pattern, possibly in the shape of a set of plumed feathers. The place was pretty bare, with very little furniture, and seemed old and drab.
I found this all to be quite disturbing. It clearly wasn't my real flat. This was reinforced when I looked out of the front door - the room outside was similarly different to its real-life counterpart, and it wasn't clear if there were any stairs to facilitiate leaving the building. The door itself was also different - it was a two way swinging door with no locking mechanism of any kind, and didn't even fill the entire doorway.
As mentioned before, it wasn't clear to me at the time whether it was a dream. As all this happened, the following was going through my head: "What if this is what happens to certain people when they are in a coma, or develop certain mental illnesses? They become trapped in an empty world like this for the rest of their lives". I was very concerned that this was what had happened to me. Then I woke up, and was relieved to discover that it hadn't.
